Walt Disney- A pioneer and innovator
...1919, an 18 year old left home to find work. He joined an art studio and started creating ads. In 1920 he formed a similar ad company with his friend. It had a bad start. He started working for another Ad company (Kansas City Film). His interest in animation made him start his own animation business.
With his friend Iwerks he joined a popular showman Newman to air their cartoons 'Laugh O Grams'. It was a hit. Follwing this they stated their own studio, which had a short life span due to lack of fund. Along with his brother he started a studio in Hollywood this time. Their new series 'Alice Comedies' was a success. Again 'Oswald the Lucky Rabbit' with Universal Pictures was a big hit. But the Universal Pictures had the rights of Oswald.
He wanted to created a new character to replace Oswald... and Mickey Mouse was born. Flip the Frog , Willie Whopper,Comicolor,Silly Symphonies, Betty Boop, The Three Little Pigs, Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia , Peter Pan, Cinderella and many more started coming in.
He was our very known Walt Disney. Walter Elias Disney was a film producer, animator, director, screen writer, voice actor, entrepreneur... He won 26 Oscars (record- four in one year) & 7 Emmy Awards!! He died of Lung cancer in 1966. His 'The Walt Disney Company' in one of the largest entertainment house in the world today.
