Some lines about…..

Graphic Designing:

Graphic designing is an universal art. The term “graphic design” was given by Willam Addison Dwiggins- a very successful American graphic designer. But the story of graphic design starts from the early man’s art in the cave-walls.

Today, it is in the streets, road signs, magazines, advertisements, headache pills, t-shirts etc etc. The success of graphic designing depends on graphic thinking and inventing.

There is an old joke amongst the graphic designers: ‘Bad design never killed anyone’. Yes, designing is ultimately decorative and creative.

Graphic designers:

Graphic designers—or graphic artists—plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communications problems. Creativity is their sword. They decide the most effective way of getting a message across in print, electronic, and film media. A designer has to determine the needs of the clients, the message the design should portray, and its appeal to customers or users.

I feel, every graphic designer practices two things… ‘simplicity’ and ‘dissimilarity’.

Simplicity :-- No designer wants to make any design more complicated. His instinct is to simplify and clarify the message in the design.

Dissimilarity :-- A designer wants each of his work to be unique. The work should stand out, not only from the works of other designers, but also from his own work.

Graphic designers—or graphic artists—plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communications problems. They decide the most effective way of getting a message across in print, electronic, and film media using a variety of methods such as color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques. Graphic designers develop the overall layout and production design of magazines, newspapers, journals, corporate reports, and other publications. They also produce promotional displays, packaging, and marketing brochures for products and services, design distinctive logos for products and businesses, and develop signs and sign age systems—called environmental graphics—for business and government. An increasing number of graphic designers also are developing material for Internet Web pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects. Graphic designers also may produce the credits that appear before and after television programs and movies.
